Irrational

This is (somewhat) based on a true story. Someone once told me they had an irrational fear of getting hit by a car. I said that was not irrational considering we live in a culture where cars are everywhere, and they claim the road to be their own. As a frequent pedestrian/longboarder, my biggest fear when out and about is not falling and getting some scrapes and bruises, but some idiot behind the wheel to distracted by their oh-so important text message to notice the tall guy in the bike lane on what looks like a surfboard with wheels.

No, for a human, to be hit by a car is not irrational, just like for a tree, being cut down is a logical death to consider. My fear of raccoons, however...
